是用于名词或代词（或相当于名词词组或从句）前，用于表示两者之间关系的一类词。

分类

按照构成

简单介词：in，on，at，with等。

常见介词

⒈on，about。e.g.: He wrote a book on math.他写了一本关于数学方面的书。She often talks about you.她经常谈论你。两者都用于表示”关于“，on表示”具体的关于“，特别是表示某个学科；about用法广泛。

⒊under，below。e.g.: There is a chair under the desk.桌子底下有把椅子。There are a lot of mines below the surface.地表下有许多矿产。两者都用于表示”在……下面“。under表示”在某物下面“（不与任何物体接触）；below表示”在……下方“（与物体接触），而且below还可以表示”在……（温度）之下“。It is below 0℃ tomorrow.明天零度以下。

⒋before，in front of，in the front of。e.g.: Before having breakfast,we needed to wash our hands.我们在吃饭之前要洗手。In front of the classroom,there is a pig.教室的前面有一头猪。In the front of the classroom,there is a teacher.教室的前部有一名老师。三者都用于表示”在……前面“。before表示”在时间的前面“；in front of表示”在……前面“（在范围外）； in the front of表示”在……前面“（在范围内）。

⒌across，through。e.g.: The man is coming across the road.这个人正在过马路。A group of people dare not go through the forest.这群人不敢穿过森林。两者都用于表示”穿过“。across表示”从平面穿过“；through表示”从内部穿过（立体）“。

⒍after，behind，at the back of。e.g.: After several days the enemies came.过了几天，敌人来了。Behind him there is a pretty girl.在他后面有一个漂亮的女孩子。A lady is sitting at the back of me.一个女的正坐在我后面。三者都用于表示”在……后面“。after表示”在时间的后面“，且用于一般过去时；behind表示”在……（位置）后面“； at the back of表示”在……（某人）背后“。

⒎among，in the middle，in the center of，between。e.g.: That is my son among a crow of boys.一群孩子中那是我儿子。There is a computer in the middle of the room.房间中间有台电脑。In the center of the hall stands a handsome man.大厅中央站着个漂亮的小伙子。Between your mother and your mother there is a gap.你爸和你妈有代沟。四者都用于表示”在……中间“。among表示”在多样事物之间“；in the middle of 表示”在……（某物）中间“； in the center of表示”在……（某物）中央“；between表示”在两者之间“，亦可用于时间中。You can come here between 7 and 9.你可以在7点到9点之间来。
